Jean Stoffer, A Woman of Many Design Talents

Jean Stoffer’s eponymous design firm is well known for creating unique and timeless kitchens that are user-friendly. That’s why the Grand Rapids, Mich.-based designer would only consider partnering with an appliance brand that shared her high level of design and focus on function.

After attending a designer training event with Monogram at the Chicago Merchandise Mart several years ago, Stoffer says she was knew Monogram was the one. “I was so impressed with the function, performance and the integration,” Stoffer says of the appliances.  “It’s a bona fide luxury brand.”

Since partnering with Monogram, Stoffer has increasingly focused on incorporating the appliances into her kitchen designs. She’s especially fond of the mixed stainless and brass in the Statement Collection. “I have grown to appreciate Monogram’s quality, innovation, and design aesthetic,” says Stoffer,

Monogram can be found in her own restored Greek Revival home, in the kitchens of Jean Stoffer Design clients, and in her brick-and-mortar store, Stoffer Home, which she opened with her daughter, Grace Start, in 2018. “The store is very cozy and has a British vibe,” she says. “And it smells wonderful!”

The shop was so popular, they have since launched an online store to serve customers outside Grand Rapids.

Stoffer Home offers accessories, lighting, furniture, rugs, and other décor. Since their interior design business is kitchen-centric, the store also features a full kitchen set up to inspire customers — with Monogram central to the design.

Monogram’s 36-Inch Professional Range anchors the retail space, and the store’s own café and coffee shop — The Bradbury Café — utilizes Monogram’s Fully Integrated Dishwasher, a Double Drawer Refrigerator and the 15-Inch Nugget Ice Maker.

In addition, Stoffer recently completed a personal remodeling project of a historic home — dubbed the “Slow Flip” — that has been in the works for over a year. Its kitchen includes Monogram’s Column Refrigerator and Freezer, Professional Range and Hood, Advantium 5-in-1 Oven and Fully Integrated Dishwasher, plus two sets of Double Drawer Refrigerators in the family room coffee bar.

She’s thrilled with how it all turned out, and the project will be featured in two upcoming episodes of her show, “The Established Home,” which premiered on the Magnolia Network in late 2021. It’s more than just a renovation show, as it offers a glimpse into Stoffer’s life. “I share personal stories that have shaped how I approach design, business, and parenting,” she recently told House Beautiful magazine.

As if successful designer, respected renovator, thriving business owner, and television star weren’t enough, the ambitious Stoffer can now add another feather to her cap: published author.

On Nov. 1, Stoffer’s debut book, “Establishing Home,” hit shelves. It’s part memoir, part design book with beautiful images, and includes useful tips about design, business, and life in general. It was a labor of love, she says: “I am so happy with it.”
