Welcome to Save Room For Design.

So where do we start? Many of us think the beginning of a remodel starts when the dumpster arrives at the house. (Which usually incites two questions from the neighbors: “What are they going to do to their house now? and “What can we sneak into that dumpster without them knowing?)”

Although the actual physical beginning of the remodel usually does start with the arrival of the dumpster, the actual planning of the remodel starts well before the dumpster arrives. There is a lot of planning and mental sweat that needs to happen.

Here at GE Monogram, we have been involved with many home and kitchen remodels, renovations and new construction homes. We have heard many love stories and war stories involving them. With Save Room For Design, we will share these stories and lessons learned in the hopes that you can glean a few nuggets of wisdom and possibly avoid any pitfalls. We will be chronicling the projects of real people working through real time situations that, hopefully, result in beautiful homes. Along the way we will also be hearing from designers, experts and people like you with tips, advice, lessons learned…and yes, war stories.
